BURNING FANCY: ANOTHER STAKES WIN OVER 10 LENGTHS; BURNING SAND: ANOTHER STAKES EXACTA FINISH

In her latest victory, BURNING FANCY (x Sayquins and Lace) was "simply the best" according to the track announcer, easily winning the Texas Lone Star Arabian Futurity by 11 3/4 lengths at Sam Houston Race Park (7).

BURNING FANCY, who holds a United States track record and won the Mandolynn Hill Farm Stakes less than a month ago, has not lost in her last five starts. The only time she has finished second was to sister SAND WITCHH, likely 3-Year-Old Filly of the Year.

MARJAN AL ASAYL WINS IN ABU DHABI!

MARJAN AL ASAYL (x Madawa by Djelfor), one of several BURNING SAND progeny running in the Middle East, wins a conditions race in Abu Dhabi! This is only his second race; he finished an impressive 2nd in his first.

Springing back into action after setting a U.S. track record a month ago, BURNING FANCY (x Sayquins and Lace) is "invincible, wins as she pleases," according to the track announcer, as she flew through the finish line to claim the Grade 3 Mandolynn Hill Farm Stakes by 13 3/4 length! The race, the second BURNING SAND graded stakes win of the day, was for 3-year-old and up fillies and mares at Lone Star Park (3).

JESSYS PRINCESS (x Noble Princess) took second place, besting the rest of the field.

SAND WITCHH (x Tornade Du Loup) stays undefeated and wins her fourth stakes race of the year after winning the Delaware Park Arabian Juvenile Distaff Championship Stakes for 3-yr-old fillies (12). BURNING FANCY SETS UNITED STATES TRACK RECORD, WINNING BY 11 1/4 LENGTHS AT RANCHO MILAGRO YEGUA STAKES; JESSYS PRINCESS AND GET HER DONE FINISH 2ND AND 3RD

BURNING FANCY (x Sayquins and Lace) set a new UNITED STATES TRACK RECORD of 1:31.0 (4/5 seconds faster than the previous record) this past Saturday at Lone Star Park's Rancho Milagro Yegua Stakes Race (4), again winning by double-digit lengths (11 1/4)! It was never a contest, as BURNING FANCY "sprinted clear and set the pace, opened a commanding lead and drew off under urging to prove much the best" against older fillies and mares. Equibase Chart, Retama Park, October 17, 2009, Race 4. The race announcer commented "BURNING FANCY has got them spread out into multiple races" and is "just a condescending winner here . . . as she takes down the Rancho Milagro Yegua Arabian Stakes!"

Following her lead and giving BURNING SAND another trifecta were JESSYS PRINCESS (x Noble Princess) and GET HER DONE (x TC Cheyenne).

BURNING FANCY (x Sayquins and Lace) "was sent along to set the early pace, drew clear on the turn then continued to open up clear daylight and was much the best while setting a new track record [of 1:25.38]," winning by an extraordinary 21 3/4 lengths at Retama Park (1). This is not the first time BURNING FANCY has dominated a field with a double-digit win--she won by 14 1/4 lengths on August 25, 2009, and by 18 1/2 lengths on July 26, 2009, both at Delaware Park.

SAND WITCHH (x Tornade Du Loup) remains undefeated after winning the Rosebrook Arabian Distaff Turf Stakes at Delaware Park (10). SAND WITCHH won this 1 1/6 mile turf race against older fillies and mares, proving herself not only to be the most dominant 3-yr-old filly of 2009, but perhaps the most dominant filly for all ages.

This victory gives SAND WITCHH three stakes wins in 2009, the last being the Grade 2, Dr. Sam Harrison Juvenile Distaff Stakes on August 8, where she won by 24 3/4 lengths.

The July issue of Arabian Finish Line reports that BURNING SAND leads in sire earnings by $113,837, over double the amount of the second leading sire (NIVOUR DE CARDONNE, $101,066). BURNING SAND also has the highest win percentage, with 29% of his runners claiming victory in 2009.

No surprises here. ABRA CAADABRA (x Caarabine CS) was by far the leading money earner in her category, winning the Grade 1 Cre-Run Oaks Stakes at Delaware, the Sweetheart Distaff Stakes at Los Alamitos, and nearly missing in three other stakes in 2008.

JESSYS PRINCESS - Older Mare of the Year

Six-years-old and going strong, JESSYS PRINCESS (x Noble Princess) took the Older Mare category with a strong record, 13(9-2-1)5-3, and a string of stakes victories: Mandolynn Hill Farm Stallion Stakes, Cobra Distaff Sprint Stakes, State Fair Distaff Stakes, Soaring Eagle Distaff Cup Stakes, and Rancho Milagro Yegua Aabian Stakes.

This mare is bred and owned by multiple-Darley winner Sam Vasquez.

WALK THE LINE - Sprinter of the Year

BURNING PERFUME MKP (x Spilled Perfume; formerly TM ELLY MAY), 4-year-old filly, convincingly wins the Grade 1, $75,000, Daughters of the Desert Oaks Stakes, the first race in the renowned Arabian Triple Crown!

Ed Burgart called the race and announced "BURNING PERFUME and Joy Scott (jockey) are going to annihilate the field! BURNING PERFUME crushes them here in the Daughter of the Desert Oaks! . . ."

QJUICK SAND PW - Winner, Drinkers of the Wind Derby (Grade 1)

QJUICK SAND PW (x Doya Juana Dance), 4-year-old colt and top earning 3-year-old of 2008, takes the Grade 1, $81,400, Drinkers of the Wind Derby Stakes, to close out the first leg of the Arabian Triple Crown!
